In our recent staff meeting, we took a moment to remember and honor the lives of two remarkable men who have passed away in recent days, leaving behind legacies that touched many of us.

Reverend David Pineaha-Sarsfield was a cherished figure within our community, particularly within our men's reintegration work. Several staff members shared their memories of working alongside Reverend David, recalling his unwavering dedication, kindness, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those he served.
His gentle guidance and compassionate approach were remembered fondly. Reverend David’s presence will be deeply missed, but his influence and the values he embodied will continue to resonate within our work.
We also remembered Tia Gerrard, a mentor at Manaaki Atu, who passed away suddenly while at work. Colleagues who worked alongside Tia spoke of his genuine care for others, his infectious enthusiasm, and his great sense of humour.
His sudden passing is a profound loss to our community, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him.
As we reflect on the contributions of Reverend David and Tia, our thoughts are with their families and loved ones. We wish them strength and compassion during this difficult time, and we honor the enduring legacies of these two remarkable men.
