Kicking Off the Year: Our First Staff Hui

Today marked our first staff hui for the year, and we hit the ground running with energy and connection. The morning began with Kapa Haka and karakia, led by Matua, setting a strong and unified tone. We then broke into small teams to wānanga three key areas: reflections on last year’s hui, professional development for the year ahead, and open feedback on how we can strengthen our mahi. Discussions explored what resonated most from past hui, ideas for impactful professional growth, and opportunities to build on our collective strengths. The thoughtful kōrero and feedback shared today were deeply appreciated and will help shape the content and focus of this year’s hui.

A special farewell to Natalie and Hannah, who joined us for their last staff hui today. We thank them for their invaluable contributions to our mission and wish them all the best on their future journeys. Royce, who is leaving us this week, also carries our gratitude and best wishes for the road ahead.

As we move forward, we draw inspiration from Peter Osborne’s words: Courage, Commitment to one another, and Meaning. With these guiding values, we’re hopeful for a year of growth, connection, and purposeful mahi. Kia kaha tātou!
