This morning’s staff hui was a timely reminder of why we gather—not just to share updates, but to reconnect with the heart of our mission and the values that guide our mahi.
We began with a refresh on the importance of hui and kapa haka. Hui create space for whakawhanaungatanga, for listening deeply, and for aligning our intentions. Kapa haka grounds us in te ao Māori and strengthens our unity as a team. It’s a way of honouring each other, our kaupapa, and those we serve.
We also revisited HUBER Social and Ngā Pou Whaiora, our frameworks that help us understand and measure wellbeing in a holistic way and to stay accountable to the deeper impact we seek to have in the lives of tangata whaiora.
As Matariki draws near, we were invited to reflect on what this new year means for us professionally and personally. Matariki is a time of renewal, of setting intentions, and of planting seeds for the future. It’s a chance to pause, breathe, and recommit to our professional practice—to show up with integrity, compassion, and courage in all that we do.
